Microscopic mirrorless negative-index optical parametric oscillator.
The feasibility and extraordinary properties of mirrorless optical parametric oscillations in a microscopic strongly absorbing slab of negative-index metamaterial are shown. They stem from the backwardness of electromagnetic waves inherent with this type of metamaterial.

متن کاملTemporal properties of counter-propagating twin beams in a Mirrorless Optical Parametric Oscillator
Twin photon pairs generated through parametric downconversion (PDC) in a χ2 medium is one of the most widely used source of entanglement. We focus here on a nonconventional geometry in which one of the twin photons propagates in the opposite direction with respect to the pump beam exploiting quasi-phase-matching in a periodically poled crystal. Through predicted almost 50 years ago, this new PD...
متن کاملAiry beam optical parametric oscillator
Airy beam, a non-diffracting waveform, has peculiar properties of self-healing and self-acceleration. Due to such unique properties, the Airy beam finds many applications including curved plasma wave-guiding, micro-particle manipulation, optically mediated particle clearing, long distance communication, and nonlinear frequency conversion. However, many of these applications including laser mach...
متن کاملAll-fiber Optical Parametric Oscillator
All-fiber optical parametric oscillator (FOPO) has received considerable attention throughout these years. In this paper, we review the basic theory—four wave mixing (FWM) in the optical fibers, which leads to the parametric amplification. Phase matching condition is then discussed, with emphasis on the phase matching near the zero dispersion wavelength. In the end, recent developments on FOPO ...
